A Slice of Heaven on Earth!Paradise Island, also known as Cayo Arena, is the only coral island in the Dominican Republic. This natural wonder is a sandbar located in the middle of the bright blue ocean, surrounded by crystal-clear shallow waters and coral reefs.The Adventure:Scenic Drive: We start with a scenic bus ride through the Dominican countryside to the fishing village of Punta Rucia.Speedboat Ride: Board our fast boats and zip across the bay to the island. Feel the wind in your hair and enjoy the turquoise views.Snorkeling: Put on your mask and jump in! The waters around Cayo Arena are teeming with thousands of tropical fish and colorful coral. It is like swimming in a natural aquarium.The Mangroves: On the way back, we navigate through the winding channels of the Monte Cristi National Park to see the lush mangrove forests and diverse wildlife.Lunch: After the water activities, enjoy a delicious Dominican buffet lunch at a beachfront restaurant in Punta Rucia.This full-day excursion is a "must-do" for beach lovers and snorkelers visiting Puerto Plata.

Itinerary

Pickup & Transfer
Early morning pickup and drive west to Punta Rucia (approx. 2 hours).

Speedboat to Island
Board the speedboat and ride through the bay to Cayo Arena.

Snorkeling & Relaxing (2.5 - 3 Hours)
Free time on the island. Snorkel with the guide, swim, eat fresh fruit, and enjoy drinks from the floating bar.

Mangrove Tour
Return via the National Park to see the mangroves and wildlife.

Enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Punta Rucia.

Return
Relax on the bus ride back to your hotel or ship.

Boat Ride: The speedboat ride can be bumpy. Not suitable for pregnant women or people with severe back problems.
Sun Protection: There is very little natural shade on the sandbar. High SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are essential.
Clothing: Wear your swimsuit under your clothes. Bring a change of dry clothes for the bus ride back.
Water Shoes: Recommended but not mandatory.
Travel Time: Please note there is approx. 2 hours of bus travel each way from Puerto Plata to Punta Rucia.
